Menu photo critique

Your menu photos are the highest-leverage A/B test on your storefront. Photo critique looks at every dish image in your menu and tells you which ones convert, which ones don’t, and exactly what to change about each.

How it works

Open any item in the admin menu editor → “Critique photo”. A multimodal LLM analyses the image across four dimensions:

  • Appetizing (1–10) — does it make a hungry person want to order?
  • Lighting (1–10) — too dark, too harsh, washed out?
  • Composition (1–10) — is the food the hero, or is it competing with the plate / table / branding?
  • Brand fit (1–10) — does the visual tone match your storefront?

Each score is followed by a single concrete suggestion (“brighten by 20%”, “shoot from 30° lower”, “remove the napkin background”).

Why it matters

In our Karachi pilot, retaking the lowest-scoring photos on a 40-item menu lifted conversion rate 17% on average within 2 weeks. The biggest single lift came from a tenant who replaced a phone-camera overhead shot with a 45°-angle close-up on the same dish.

Cost

~PKR 1.20 per photo (Gemini Pro Vision). Capped at 20 critiques/day — enough to walk through your whole menu over a couple of days.
