Kitchen display (KDS)

A tablet-friendly order board for the kitchen floor. Orders land in real-time via Server-Sent Events — no polling, no refresh — and the display walks each order through Received → Accepted → Preparing → Ready states.

Layout

Three columns: New, Cooking, Ready. Each card shows order ID, customer name, fulfillment type (delivery / pickup / dine- in + table), items + modifiers, and elapsed time. The card colour shifts to amber after 15 minutes, red after 30.

Sound + alerts

Audio chime on new order (configurable per branch). Browser notifications if the tab is backgrounded.

Multi-branch

Each branch has its own KDS — orders for bb-clifton only show on the clifton-branch KDS, never on the DHA-branch tablet.

Daily summary

End-of-shift summary card: total orders, avg prep time, longest- prep item, peak hour. Auto-archives at midnight (configurable per tenant timezone).
